Donnie Bentley

Donnie Bentley is an arranger, performer, and educator in Raleigh, North Carolina. Donnie Bentley has over 10 years of experience as a director, arranger and performer in the arts of percussion. Currently he is the director of percussion ensembles at Union Pines High School. He has been an educator and clinician since 2007, teaching at numerous award winning high school percussion programs across North Carolina. Mr. Bentley also does private studio work with students and recordings.

 

In 2016, Mr. Bentley started the Union Pines and Moore County Winter Percussion Ensemble. In their first year of competing in the AIA Winter Percussion circuit, they placed 3rd in the AIA Championships.

 

Mr. Bentley grew up in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, and attended Harnett Central High School. Mr. Bentley studied percussion while in the Marine Corps. He also attended Methodist University where he was pursued a music education degree. In 2010, he was a member of the Pride of the Carolinas Marching Monarchs at Methodist University where he marched as the center tenor and section leader.
